Collapse and reconstruction
Created over a year and a half, Émergence was born of a long dialogue with the material. Weakened in the course of the work, one day it collapsed in on itself – like a being on the verge of rupture. By wrapping her in fabric and paper, I chose to accompany her rather than constrain her. Little by little, she rebuilt herself, finding a new, freer, stronger form.
Émergence speaks of transformation, of crossing over, of that quiet power born of chaos. It embodies that moment when, after collapse, something within us chooses to stand up again – more grounded, more vibrant, truer.
Slender silhouette
The piece evokes both a human silhouette and an organic form, as if sprung from the earth.
Today, its ascending curves rise like a body in the making, reaching for the light. Its fluid curves, with their patina of bronze and grey-green hues, carry the memory of earth and fire. They reveal both the fragility of the living and the vital impulse that runs through it.
