Sculpture Contre Vents et Marées

Custom sculptures

This sculpture, originally modest in size, can be made inother dimensions, according to your wishes: from 10 cm to 5 meters!

It can also be made from other materials: bronze, resin or terracotta. The appearance can be entirely customized, making it a unique work of art. : white polished stone effect, translucent or with colored resins.

Against all odds

Contre vents et marées (Against winds and tides) appeared without warning, in a spontaneous, almost instinctive gesture.
This golden ascent reveals a form that resists, that stands up, that advances against all odds.
The sculpture tells the story of one being – or perhaps two – linked in the same movement, united in a common journey.
It embodies the strength of those who persist when all else falters, who continue on their way despite obstacles, despite headwinds.

In its slender silhouette, we see the tension of struggle and the beauty of courage. The material, with its patina of gold and bronze, reflects the light, as if to remind us that even in hardship, something continues to shine.
The form seems both anchored and in motion, anchored in its broad, supple base, carried forward by an irresistible impulse.
It’s a sculpture about standing firm, getting up, moving forward together.

A shape born of momentum

As is often the case in my work, Contre vents et marées (Against winds and tides) came about without any prior plan.
A shape emerged from the material, like a breath coming from within.
There was a necessity in this gesture: to speak of the crossing, to speak of the strength of a bond that resists the upheavals, to speak of the obstinate movement of the living that refuses to give in.

The work on the material – its curves, its hollows, its zones of light – accompanied this message.
The sculpture took its time, letting itself be guided, refined until the impetus became clear: to move forward, whatever the cost.

Forward, connected

What emanates from this piece is, above all, a presence.
A being standing against the wind, or two silhouettes welded together in a single movement.
Interpretation remains open, but the energy is there: that of support, of connection, of silent solidarity.

In this figure, there is a couple, a family, or perhaps two parts of the same being.
Above all, there is the deep conviction that we stand together, that we resist better together, that the road becomes possible because it is shared.
Contre vents et marées gives shape to this strength: humble, tenacious, luminous.
