A statue born of spontaneous creativity
This sculpture of a pregnant woman was born of an instinctive, almost thoughtless gesture. It sprang from my hands like a breath, carried by an inspiration from who knows where. At the time, I had no experience of motherhood, nor even the desire for a child.
And yet, the clay allowed itself to be guided, and a feminine silhouette emerged as a matter of course.
This spontaneous emergence gave birth to La Rayonnante, a work that deeply surprised and marked me, as if it had revealed itself to me rather than being shaped.
An ode to radiant motherhood
Even today, years after its creation, this terracotta sculpture of a pregnant woman continues to vibrate within me.
She embodies the power of life passing on, the intimate and universal joy of motherhood.
Her round belly, generous and protective, radiates a vital energy that goes beyond the simple artistic gesture.
Through her, I perceive the strength of women who carry life, their inner light, their capacity to give and pass on. La Rayonnante thus becomes much more than a work of art: it’s a tribute to blossoming femininity and luminous motherhood.
Inspired by primitive art
With its pure forms and powerful volumes, this sculpture recalls the primitive figures of tribal art.
Its sober, essential lines convey a universal, timeless truth that touches the heart of our humanity.
Through clay, a raw, earthy material, I discovered a language that goes beyond words: that of origins, of roots, of the sacred bond between a woman and the life she carries.
