LA MADONE, 11 cm, patinated terracotta
Sculpture La Madone, harmony and serenity
Custom sculpture
This statue can be made inother sizes on request: from 10 cm to 5 metres!
Or in other subjects: bronze, resin or terracotta. The appearance can therefore be customized : white polished stone effect, translucent or with colored resins.
The Madonna reinvented
Small in height – barely ten centimetres – La Madone nonetheless possesses a surprisingly ample presence.
Its curved, enveloping lines curl into a soft, protective, almost sacred silhouette.
The sculpture seems to lean slightly forward, as if offering a silent blessing to those who look upon it.
The golden patina, with its hints of red and copper, gives it a special warmth: an inner light, soft but vibrant.
It is reminiscent of ancient icons, but stripped of all detail and artifice – a Madonna reinvented, reduced to the essential.
We perceive harmony, presence and a serenity that settles like a breath.
It’s a figure that watches over, soothes and welcomes.
A contemporary and timeless Madonna
This sculpture was born as a matter of course: the form appeared in a single piece, as if given.
It already carried within it that softness, that protective gesture, that discreet verticality reminiscent of women’s silhouettes in ancient frescoes, but revisited with Catherine Chavigny’s refined language.
The Madonna lends itself to all sorts of interpretations:
– a figure of peace,
– a presence in the home,
– a symbol of feminine gentleness,
– or simply a being of light.
The 20 cm version, in terracotta, extends this same energy: an inhabited simplicity, a humble gesture, a calm radiance.
A watchful presence
There’s nothing spectacular about this work: it’s all about restraint, balance and intention.
And it’s precisely this that gives it its strength.
The Madonna doesn’t impose herself – she simply exists, fully.
Her ample, almost rounded base anchors the sculpture.
Her slender top, turned towards the light, evokes a being who stands, watches, accompanies.
It’s easy to imagine this discreet figure in a niche, on a shelf, in a quiet corner of a house: a little talisman, a benevolent presence, a landmark.
